Lowrance 4X HDI Kayak Sounder Review
If you are looking for a new kayak sounder and don’t want to spend a fortune, check out the Lowrance Elite-4 HDI. HDI stands for Hybrid Dual Imaging, which is a combination of both standard sonar and DownScan sonar which shows a much better picture when looking for hidden structure or isolating schools of fish from the bottom. The best part is that you only need one transducer!
This sounder has a LED backlit display which makes it clearly visible even in full sunlight. The size is a little bigger than some of the older Elite 4 models, so splitting the screen is possible without needing a magnifying glass to read it. Running a split screen with both normal sonar and down imaging is great for finding targets as it allows you to compare the readings and give you a better understanding of what is below your yak.
Overall, if you’re looking for a small fish finder with limited budget, this will suit your needs. The technology in this unit combined with the LED display will transform your future fishing trips for the better.
More to come soon on how to attach your sounder and transducer to the kayak for best results and convenience! Stay tuned!
